Josh S. Margulies joined the firm in 2025, and regularly appears in Manhattan Housing Court, where he represents landlords in various types of summary proceedings. Prior to that, Josh had worked for a non-profit legal organization, drafting motions in housing court, arguing orders to show cause, and conducting trials, as well as prosecuting violations of state and local ordinances.
For more than two decades, Josh has been zealously providing counsel to, and advocacy for, an assortment of clients. He has a keen ability to parse the nuances of statutory and common law, and an expansive capacity to explain such law and its ramifications in layman’s terms.
Josh is also an award-winning, accomplished orator and writer, with a passion for education. He has taught as an adjunct professor in many top graduate and undergraduate programs, teaching deliberation and debate at New York University, Hunter College, Bauch College and Hofstra University. He has acted as a judge for many prestigious collegiate debate tournaments, and has been a coach for Columbia University’s debate team. He currently tutors students in LSAT preparedness, focusing on those students who need an extra push to gain admittance to Ivy League schools, and has also served on the curriculum development committee for Hofstra University’s new medical school.
Josh has also hosted a top-rated public affairs radio show and was co-founder of the first online “draft” Presidential campaign for any candidate in modern American history, for whom he then served as Deputy Communications Director. Josh also developed the first online legal referral service to have been approved by the American Bar Association and has managed daily operations of a government newsletter.
At Columbia University, Josh received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and was awarded the coveted, university-wide George William Curtis prize for Oratory. Josh received a merit-based scholarship from both Syracuse University Law School and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, from which he graduated, respectively, with a Juris Doctor and a Master of Public Administration.
