Bio
Mary T. Lucere joined the firm in 2022 after an illustrious career that spanned more than three decades in various arenas of the legal profession. While she has previously practiced in the fields of business law, wills, trusts and estates, and in matrimonial law, her specialization has been in real estate, landlord tenant law and civil litigation.
Mary previously owned and operated her own successful solo practice in Nassau County for many years, and also worked at a number of prestigious real estate firms across Long Island. She has represented both sellers and purchasers in residential real estate transactions, commercial properties and cooperative apartments and condominiums.
Mary has seen much success as a tenacious litigator, proving successful in the case of ATM One, LLC v. Allicino, 190 Misc.2d 181, 737 N.Y.S.2d 812 (N.Y. Dist. Ct. 2001), wherein the District Court of the State of New York, County of Nassau, determined that, in a pre-HSTPA 2019 era, a rent stabilized tenant was liable for attorneys’ fees under a lease. In 2008, Mary was also victorious after conducting a jury trial, wherein the jury awarded her client $2 million against the opposing party, Exxon Mobil.
Mary earned her Bachelors of Science in Humanities in 1985 from the New York Institute of Technology and her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in 1988. Mary is admitted to practice law in the state of New York.
